Maya Angelou-Poems-8/14/2011--Poetry.

          Dear Readers,



              I currently finished reading POEMS By Maya Angelou. I picked this book because it seemed nice and the bookstore lady said its a great book that has great poems. The significance is that she is talking about her life in that book what shes been through.

The genre if this book is Poetry. There isn't really character in the poems it just talks about her life. It takes place in her Journey. There is not really a conflict because it just talks about how she is living and what shes doing, and its a character vs. self.

The tone of this book is relaxed. The mood is also relaxed like laid back and some of the pages were excited. The moral is like to always be independent. The point if view is first person. The authors purpose is to tell you how she lived her life. I think its a nice book and lots of people should read it. I would read it again just for the fun cause its really nice.

I think this book is very interesting it tells you a lot about life and great poems about how she lived. I think its really nice I would recommend it to people. I would rate this book 4 star.

The Boy in The Striped Pajamas By:John Boyne-August 11,2011

       Dear Readers,



                  
                    I just finished reading THE BOY IN THE STRIPED PAJAMAS By:John Boyne. I picked this book because a person who works in the bookstore recommended the book to me. The significance of this book is a boy who goes on an adventure throughout his life. This book passed the 5W test.

The genre of this book is fiction.The characters are Bruno the 9 year old boy and his sister Gretel, and Bruno's mother and father, they are static and motive. The setting is that they leave in Berlin. The conflict is that Bruno's father got a new job at a place called Out-With where Bruno needs to live his friends in Berlin so when they move to the new house its kind of small and there is no kids to play with and soldiers walk around their neighborhood all day long, but then Bruno saw people living in tents behind his house in striped pajamas, then one day Bruno was curious so he went there and saw a boy his age sitting and just doing nothing, so he met the kid and his name is Samuel they talked and talked for days Samuel told Bruno that his father disappeared and he cant get out of this place so Bruno and Samuel figured out a plan to get Samuel's father back and get out them out of that place and its Man Vs. Society.

The resolution is that at the end Samuel and Bruno found his dad and Bruno helped them get out of there and live close to Bruno's family.

The tone of this book is exciting. The mood of this book is excited. The moral of this book is that always you can find and help friends anywhere you go. The point of view is 3rd person. The authors purpose is that you can always help a friend. I think this book was very nice and interesting it made me feel like i was in the story and i would recommend it to my friends. I would rate this book 5 star.

We Beat The Street By:Drs.Sampson Davis,George Jenkins, and Rameck Hunt.8/4/2011

                 I just finished reading WE BEAT THE STREET BY:DRS.SAMPSON DAVID,GEORGE JENKINS,AND RAMECK HUNT. I picked this book because it was suggested to me by the summer reading list. The significance is that dreams do come true.

      The genre of this book is Non-Fiction Biography. the topic is that 3 boys who were judged because  they were black skipped class one to shoot hoops and they ended up in a lesson about medical school. The main idea is that 3 boys the first is Sampson he has a brother named Andre one day his mom asked Andre to watch Sampson,Sampson is is 6 year old and Andre is almost 10 so he walked with Andre and his friends they saw a park that was broken apart and wanted to help and fix it. Sampson picked up a piece of big wood to help them and by accident it fell on his foot he screamed out of pain when he got home his mom was with a broom,she asked Andre what happened and then chased him around with the broom till he went upstairs his mom toke him to the Doctor and he found out that he got some broken bones and put on a cast. The second person is Rameck,he has problems in school he gets in trouble almost everyday,he is 9 years old he is in a catholic school which he just moved in from a public school he hates his new school and everyday wishes to move from that school to his old school. The Third person is George he is 8 he has a brother Garland.George loves school he always gets upset when he misses days of school even when he is sick but his brother is the opposite of him he always skip classes one day his teacher told him he is the smartest kid in her class and that he should go to college and then George said but i wont have so many friends if I go to college so he thinks if someone is too smart he is a nerd and wont have any friends They all get in troubles.

            They also have a hard life all of them. All of them are not bad kids. The Main idea is Stated. If i would give it another i would call it LIFE IS NOT EASY!...The cause&effect is that if they would do the right choices they wouldn't get hurt or anything. The authors purpose is to show readers that they should be nice and behave good.

         The connection is Text to world. My response is that this book was OK i wouldn't recommend it to someone,and i wouldn't read it again.I would rate this book 3 it wasn't so great.

Justin Bieber First Step 2 Forever:My Story-July 27,2011

Dear Readers,


       I just finished reading Justin Bieber First Step 2 Forever:My Story by Justin Bieber. I picked this book because i really like Justin Bieber and because it was recommended to me. The significance of the passage to book is to follow your dreams no matter what anybody tells you always believe in yourself. This book taught me lots about life like to never give up at something you wanna do.

     The genre of this book is Non-fiction and its and autobiography. The topic of this book is to Never Say Never and that also a quote that Justin says its like to always follow your dreams and always believe in yourself. The main idea is that a 13 year old Canadian kid coming from such a small town in Canada Ontario with a small population and after 2 years he lived in such a big big world. He loved going to hockey games with his grandfather. When Justin was 12 his manager Scooter Braun saw a video of him on YouTube preforming in a local talent show. A few months after he became 15 his first single came out. When he was 16 he went on his first tour preforming for 85 countries in the U.S.. His personal bodyguard is Kenny Hamilton, He is not only his body guard he is like a best friend for Justin they do lots of stuff together like play Xbox ps3 and more. Always when he sing the song up in his concert he flies a hot air balloon made out of medal in the the arena. Justin Bieber was born March 1,1994. His Musical directer is Dan Kanter. When Justin was 13 he started playing on the steps next to the Avon Theatre. The main idea is stated. The title i would give it would be Justin Bieber: How it all started. Justin Bieber is a very proud Canadian Boy. Usher is one of Justin's heroes. Justin always goes back to Ontario to visit his Grandma and Grandpa. The essential message is that Justin's team always keep him stay grounded.

            
             When Justin was little he didn't have much money but that didn't occur to him because he had a family that loved him. He would go every week fishing with his grandpa. Justin's Tradition at Christmas is he would every time go a couple hours before and just hang out and put up the tree. Justin loves his grandma's dinner in Christmas because he loves Turkey and gravy. every time after his show on the tour bus he wishes he could have that food that moment. Justin doesn't mind what he gets because he says he already got what he needs a great lovely family who love him and support him. A few Years ago Justin wrote a song named "Down To Earth" that lyrics were his feelings abut how he felt that time.

Justin has 1 baby brother and 1 baby sister named Jaxon and Jazmyn he says he would do anything for them. Justin Bieber appreciated and respects his mom so much because shes been through a lot and has worked really hard to make a good life for Justin and her and she was a single mother.  When Justin was 5 he started playing the Piano and the Drums. Justin used to play his moms friends drums kit. and his moms friend thought he should get also a drum set but his mom didn't have money for that so they made at their house a little performance like Justin playing jazz and other music and he got enough money for a new drum kit with everything in it he was really happy. Justin's mom couldn't afford lessons for him so he taught himself how, he would know when the music fit and when it didn't  like when your shoes don't fit. as soon as Justin was big enough to get his arms on a guitar he played that too. Justin Loves hanging out with his 2 best friends Ryan Butler and Chaz Sumers, They were hockey buddies since they were little. Justin went to a school where people don't talk English the idea was to learn french while adding subtracting and more. Ryan and Chaz always treat Justin the same thing as they were little.

Justin practices every day 75 minutes of dancing a chirography. When he was doing his music video of the song "One Less Lonely Girl" not many older people like the video they thought he is just a kid he doesn't know anything but Justin didn't let it get to him. When Justin was little he joined a local contest of singing people who heard Justin sing said "dude your pretty awesome, you should tryout for American Idol".

for the third round he was singing "Respect" by Aretha Franklin
Justin made all the way to the last round of the contest. Justin went up on stage with another 2 girls and Justin was trying to look cool like yeah whatever I don't care but on the inside he was praying for the judge to call his name but she called someone else but steel Justin won 2nd place.
Justin's mom Pattie Mallet got a call from many people wanting to be her sons manager but she didn't want any of them. then after another person called named scooter braun he told her he sees a great future for her son.

         The Cause&Effect is that if he nobody liked his music he wouldn't be where he is now. The compare&contrast is that if Scooter Braun wouldn't have seen the videos Justin Bieber wouldn't have been famous. The authors purpose is that he wanted to show how it all started and what was it like to him.the point of view is first person which means that he is talking. This is a text to world. i would rate this book 5.
